What is a Vision?
The Meaning of Vision
What is vision? Once your mission, the reason for your existence, is established, the next step is to decide what you will ultimately achieve through your life project. This is your final goal, your vision. Vision is a visualized image clearly drawn in your mind of the future you want to create. The clearer the image of your vision, the more likely it is to be realized. Therefore, visualize it repeatedly until you can see it whether your eyes are closed or open.
What is faster than light? The mind. With your mind, you can instantly travel to the edge of the universe. The mind is faster than light, transcending time and space, so when you plant a desire in your mind, it is fulfilled in an instant. On the cosmic time scale, life is just a fleeting moment, but on life's time scale, it merely feels like things aren't happening immediately. Plant the vision you desire in your mind, think about it, and repeat those thoughts until the image becomes clear.
The Ultimate Goal
What is your vision? Being busy without substance happens when you lack vision. Moving quickly without direction is foolish. Without an established vision as your direction, you're likely to wander aimlessly. First determine your direction. Your destination must be clear.
Once you've set a clear goal, bury it in your heart and keep it secret. Seeds left on the ground will be eaten by birds or wither away. When sharing your vision with others, there may be more negativity than encouragement—some might criticize or show jealousy. Such negativity can hinder your progress and make achieving your goal difficult. However, if someone is positive, share your vision with them. Their positive mindset will help you achieve your goal.
For seeds to sprout, grow, and bear fruit, they need soil, water, wind, and sunlight. After establishing your vision, ensure you can receive support from those around you. Continuous support is essential for achieving your goal. To receive ongoing support, don't prioritize selfishness. If you seek help while thinking first about your own success, you won't receive heartfelt assistance. This is because when you're focused on your own benefit, no one will genuinely want to help. If your vision aims to improve the world rather than just yourself, you'll receive the world's support. Therefore, prioritize helping others succeed. When you ask, "How can I help you succeed?" no one will refuse your assistance. When you help someone succeed, they work their hardest, and when they succeed, you can succeed together. If a boss wants to succeed, they should first help their employees succeed. As you extend this mindset of prioritizing others' success to the world, everyone will support you, and you'll ultimately achieve your dream.
When setting goals, take paths others aren't taking. If rumors spread about making a fortune from cabbage farming last year due to soaring prices, most farmers will undoubtedly rush to grow cabbage this year. As a result, cabbage prices will plummet, causing significant losses. Opportunities lie in the opposite direction from where others are heading. Going the opposite way is a differentiation strategy and creates a blue ocean.
Methods for Deriving Goals
What You Want to Do
As you develop multiple capabilities, certain strengths will emerge. These strengths are specialized to you, creating an intrinsic motivation that drives you to become increasingly proficient. As these strengths reach expert levels, your aspirations also elevate. Your focus expands from personal benefit to creating a better world.
The desire to create a better world than today opens your perspective on the future and awakens insights about the direction needed for improvement through understanding historical flows. Modern entrepreneurship isn't about profit-seeking but about creating a better world. In the past, when transportation and communication were underdeveloped, villages were distant and interpersonal communication channels limited, making smooth communication difficult. As transportation and communication advanced, distances shortened and channels broadened. The future will bring even smoother interpersonal communication, favoring sharing over monopolization, openness over closure, harmony over confrontation, cooperation over conflict, balance over bias, and collective over individual priorities, awakening us to the world's unity and advancing toward a happier world where everyone prospers together.
If you continue doing what you love in a field that contributes to elevating the world's quality, you'll eventually achieve your dream.
What You Want to Become
The image of who you want to become can be found in the law of supply and demand. By repeatedly doing what you want, you develop your strengths and become someone the world needs. The greater your usefulness, the greater your role. Everything in this world has value when it's useful; without usefulness, it's essentially dead. We find fulfillment when we're useful and experience happiness from that fulfillment.
We live to be happy. To be happy, your mind must be unencumbered. For an unencumbered mind, you must be free from attachments, which requires recognizing that the self doesn't exist separately. Ultimately, the state you want to achieve is one free from suffering, liberated and happy. Within this state, determine what role you'll play. We received the gift of life billions of years ago. It's time we figured out what to do with it.
